Open Discussions:

Web Site Administrators— The specifications, cost and administration of two web site administrators were discussed as regards to the troop having a web site.

During this discussion also in attendance were Scoutmaster Hebert and Dwayne Brogle.  Scoutmaster Hebert had also mentioned the ‘Scoutmaster’ software may be outdated and a new version may need to be purchased. He will inform the committee if an update is necessary.  Dwayne Brogle has agreed to be troop 562’s “Webmaster”.  The website will be owned and maintained by the Troop with Dwayne as the primary webmaster.

The vote was unanimous for the ‘Scouts’ website administrator. The vote was unanimous to set up a ‘Paypal’ account to make monthly payments of $12.99 for the web site plus advanced calendar.  The vote was unanimous for the web address to be a .org address The web administrator will present web addresses that are available.

Committee Organizational Representative—  Paul Brown is no longer available to be the Committee Organizational Representative as his new place of residence has limited his participation in the Troop.  It was discussed and agreed by all committee members present that Shelda Melancon and Dwayne Koonce will be presented to Pastor Jerry as nominations for the Committee Organizational Representative.

Troop Advancement Chairman--  Sharon Pender and Rae Mollo will serve as the Troop Advancement Committee with Sharon Pender as the Chairperson. The Troop Advancement Committee is responsible for administering the merit badge program, obtaining qualified merit badge counselors and maintaining advancement records. It is also responsible for supplying the Council Service Center with advancement records. The Advancement Chairman is usually the one to organize the Board of Review. It was also discussed that the Troop Advancement Committee would counsel individual scouts on their individual advancement.
